Accused, facing charges of murdering one person by firing gunshots, has been released on bail. Seriousness and gravity of the offence however, not taken into consideration, while granting bail to him. Upon being granted bail, accused not only remained absent from the trial consistently but has also sought repeated adjournments. As a result of such tactics cross-examination of witnesses is yet to be concluded. Order of Allahabad High Court granting bail to accused, who was making attempts to evade the conclusion of the trial, overruled by Supreme Court in AIROnline 2022 SC 639.
